Then there is the grade question: AEC-Q200 qualified automotive parts cost more and are worth verifying, because remarked commercial stock does show up in the open market during shortages. The real trade-off most purchasing teams face is price against lead time. Factory-direct pricing is fine on a forecast, but when a line is down, paying a premium for verified stock that ships this week is the cheaper option. Date code, original packaging, and traceability are worth asking about up front rather than after the reels arrive.
