How do I avoid counterfeit backplane connectors when a series is discontinued?

Discontinued 2mm HM and DIN 41612 parts are common targets for remarked or refurbished stock, so insist on traceability to the original manufacturer or franchised channel. Ask for photos of the original factory packaging, labels, and lot codes rather than loose bulk parts. If the price looks far below the rest of the market, treat that as a warning sign rather than a bargain.

Can you supply press-fit and solder versions of the same connector series?

In most major series from TE, Amphenol, and Molex, both termination styles exist under different part number suffixes, so we can usually quote either.
