RF Demodulators
RF demodulators take a modulated radio frequency signal and recover the baseband information it carries. On this page you will mostly find quadrature (IQ) demodulators, which split a signal into in-phase and quadrature components, along with AM, FM, and phase demodulator ICs aimed at narrower legacy tasks. The IQ parts dominate because modern receivers, whether a cellular base station, a satellite terminal, a point-to-point microwave link, or a spectrum analyzer, almost always move to complex baseband as early as possible in the chain. You will also see parts marketed as RF-to-baseband or direct-conversion demodulators, which do the same job with an integrated mixer and local oscillator interface. When engineers and buyers source these parts, the datasheet numbers that matter are operating frequency range, conversion gain, input IP3 and P1dB for linearity, noise figure, and LO drive level. Matching between the I and Q channels, gain and phase balance, decides how clean the demodulated constellation looks, so that spec gets a hard look on anything carrying high-order QAM. Package is the other practical point: most of these ICs come in small QFN or TSSOP outlines, and many older broadcast and video demodulators have gone end-of-life, which is exactly where an independent distributor earns its keep. On the purchasing side, there is a real trade-off to weigh. Factory-direct franchised stock is the safe route, but lead times on niche RF parts can stretch past 20 weeks. Spot-market availability solves the schedule problem, though it raises counterfeit and relabeling risk, especially on discontinued part numbers. Ask for traceability paperwork, date codes, and photos before committing. Full reels versus cut tape also matters more than people expect, since some assembly houses will not accept short tapes on fine-pitch QFN. Do you supply RF demodulators on full reels, or can I order cut tape for prototypes?
Both. Production quantities normally ship as factory-sealed full reels in the original QFN or TSSOP packaging, which is what most contract manufacturers prefer for fine-pitch parts. For prototypes and small builds we can provide cut tape with a minimum quantity, though pricing per unit is higher and some parts are only available in reel quantities.
